POTENTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) AND DATA ANALYTIC FOR EFFECTIVE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION IN NIGERIA
Abstract
This paper explores the potential contributions of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics in enhancing school administration. It is believed that leveraging AI and data can streamline administrative tasks, improve decision-making and ultimately lead to better educational outcomes. By automating routine tasks, providing data-driven insights, and enabling personalized supports, AI and data can help administrators focus on strategic initiatives that benefit students and teachers. In a world that is rapidly moving towards digitization, Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is the development of computer systems that is capable of performing tasks that normally require human intelligence and data analytics are partners in progress for effective school administration. This paper aims at finding out the contributions of artificial intelligence and data analytics to effective school administration. Bias and discrimination, lack of transparency and interpretability, data privacy and security breaches, lack of ethical and legal guidelines among others, are some of the challenges facing Data and AI in enhancing school administration. The paper recommended that government should step up funding for educational institutions, internet services providers should provide quality internet services across the country and that school administrators should be given periodic training and re-training programmes among others. The paper therefore, concludes that application of AI and Data in school administration will make for effective school administration.
